The Spanish startup ecosystem has reached a combined value of €93B, driven by the emergence of four new homegrown unicorns. VC investment in Spain reached €4B in 2022, with Latin American countries representing 3 of the top 10 recipients of Spanish VC investment. Spain ranks 6th in Europe and 16th globally for total investment raised in 2022. Early stage investment reached a record high of €1.8B, and 141+ funding rounds have been invested from Spanish investors into LatAm startups. Many Spanish investors such as Seaya and Wayra have been active in investing into LatAm-based startups and scaleups. The value of public companies and private companies in Spain and LatAm is also provided.
