The report, "Connected Home 2023," examines how emerging media technologies are impacting consumers' homes. The report surveys 5,026 U.S. consumers and finds that smart TVs are now the norm, accounting for most TV sets. Three out of four TV households now own a smart TV, up from 7 in 10 in 2021. Additionally, 6 in 10 TV homes stream on a smart TV at least weekly, up from 5 in 10 in 2021. The report also finds that more than half of TV HHs have a 4K-capable set, and two in three 4K set owners have actually watched 4K content. These findings suggest that strong increases in ownership and more frequent use of smart TVs have created rapid growth in smart TV viewing, impacting the CTV "4 D's" of Discovery, Decision, Delivery, and Data.
