STRICKLING:You've alreadytaken away my best remarks.I was going tointroduce Karl as an observer, as a visitor.But rather than starting with Karl, let'sstart with the new.Let's start with Paige Atkins,who's joined us here at the headtable.Paigeis our new Deputy AssociateAdministratorfor Spectrum Planning and willbetaking over all of this work here,as Karlcontinuesto wind down his long tenure here atNTIA. Ithink most people know Paige. Shecame here from the Virginia Tech AppliedResearchCorporation,where she was the VicePresidentof Cyber and Information TechnologyResearchand then prior to that,as many ofyouknow,she was over at DISA as the DirectorforStrategic Planning and Information. Soshe's here.Hercurrent set ofresponsibilitiesinvolves internationalspectrumpolicy,all of our strategic planningwork,all of our overall spectrum policy work,andwe have been very happy to have her here.She'sbeen performing spectacularly well,anditwill be a delight for all of you to haveherhere as the lead on CSMAC. Ihaven't yet--we haven't yet testedher sense of humor to find out if she'sasfunny as Karl has tended to be with his drywit,but I'm sure she'll more than make up forthatin other categories.Sowelcome Paige. MS. ATKINS:Thankyou. MR. STRICKLING:Andas a result,Karlis now here on observer status.ButIknowlast meeting,we had a chance tocelebrateKarl's long tenure here with CSMACandwith NTIA,and there will be many,many,manymore opportunities to do that before heactuallydeparts the agency before the end oftheyear. Ialso want to introduce MatthewHussey,who joins us today from the FCC.Wehaddecided,and I think there was somediscussionhere about the benefits of havingamore formal relationship with--throughliaisonsbetween NTIA and the FCC,and Matthewdrewthe long straw at the FCC to come join ushereat our meetings. And RangamSubramanian.IsRangam here?Standup Rangam.Rangamis in ourshop,and he will be our liaison over to theFCC.Sosome of you that are working on tagissuesover there.We'llbe seeing Rangamtherein the future. STRICKLING:Okay,very good.Lastintroduction,Glenn Reynolds,who againmanyof you know joined--stand up Glenn.Glennis our new chief of staff here at NTIA,joinedus in August from U.S.TelecomAssociation,and is in our front office. He'llbe focusing on many areas,butspectrum and our work in Boulder will behighamong his responsibilities.Sowiththat,I think that's all of our introductions.Beyondthat,I just want to welcome everyonetotoday's CSMAC meeting. I'm veryinterested and excited aswecontinue to probe and evaluate these issuesofindustry and government collaboration.I seethat as a major emphasis of our work anddiscussiongoing forward,and I'm lookingforwardto that discussion today,as well aswiththe other reports we will have from theSubcommitteeson Enforcement and TransitionalSharingand the rest of it. Sowith that,let me get it backtoour chairs,and take it away. Bu
