Infrastructure connectivity continued to unleash itscooperation potential. Important meetings of multilateral cooperationmechanisms, such as the Second China-Central Asia Summit, the ShanghaiCooperation Organization (SCO) Tianjin Summit, the China-ASEANConstruction Ministers' Roundtable, and the Fourth Ministerial Meetingof the China-CELAC Forum, were successfully held. Parties deepenedalignment around core topics such as cross-border connectivity, greenenergy transition, innovation in investment and financing models, andregional synergistic development, and further consolidated consensus,injec ting new momentum into the high-quality development ofinfrastructure in BRI partner countries. Meanwhile, China and BRI partnercountries worked together with a shared purpose to upgrade the quality ofinfrastructure cooperation and continuously expand diversified investmentand financing channels. A large number of landmark projects in cross-border transportation, green energy, and digital infrastructure havebeen implemented. The efforts significantly enhanced the infrastructureconnectivity and green and low-carbon development capabilities ofvarious countries, and made positive contributions to promoting economicdevelopment, social progress, and livelihood improvement in BRI partnercountries. China International Contractors Association (CHINCA), the only nationalindustrial organization of international contractors, and China Export &Credit Insurance Corporation (SINOSURE), the only policy-based insuranceagency in China, worked jointly on the Belt and Road InfrastructureDevelopment Index (BRIDI) 2026 and issued the 10th BRIDI report, as sponsored by Macao Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute. Theaim is to provide supportive information for domestic and internationalinfrastructure investors and contractors, and open new horizons for qualityBRI cooperation. This year's BRIDI study retains the previous framework. Itprovides a deep analysis of the infrastructure industry from the perspectivesof development environment, demands, passions, and costs, as well as aforecast and outlook on short-term development trends. This report is structured as follows: The first section introduces theperformance characteristics of the overall BRIDI and the four sub-indicesin BRI partner countries; the second section discusses the opportunitiesand risks faced by the infrastructure industry in BRI partner countriesand puts forward relevant suggestions; the third section, with a focus onnew energy infrastructure, a hot area in the industry, analyzes its currentdevelopment status and assesses future development prospects; the fourthsection conducts a detailed analysis on the infrastructure industry of threerepresentative countries from different regions.
