Preface The intelligent era brings about reconstruction of education ecosystems. Artificial intelligence isreshaping not merely the tools we use, but fundamentally what we learn, how we teach, how wemanage, and how we assess, from school-based learning to lifelong education systems for all. Inresponse to this pivotal moment, the World Digital Education Alliance (WDEA) launched a globalinitiative calling for cases of best practices onScenario-Driven Artificial Intelligence + EducationTransformation. This call aimed to identify, verify, and share promising AI-powered educationalpractices across all educational levels and fields. The call presented eight scenarios, namely, to enableimmersive & practical learning, innovate classroom instruction, personalize teaching & learning,optimize management & services, transform assessment & evaluation, pioneer new frontiers ineducation, enable AI-powered scientific research, and last but not least, towards AI-enabled lifelonglearning. We were seeking innovative applications and technical solutions driven by real-world scenarios,addressing real problems, and delivering outstanding results. We received over 500 submissions fromover 50 countries and regions, spanning every continent and every education level. Five evaluationdimensions guided our selection: innovation, effectiveness and value, replicability, content quality, andsupporting evidence. We prioritized cases that demonstrated not mere technological novelty, butgenuine educational transformation—processes that could be adapted across different resourcesettings, cultural contexts, and educational stages. After experts’ evaluation, 100 exemplary cases were selected, and the Top 10 Innovative Cases havebeen identified. They are not theoretical proposals. They are real solutions addressing real problems inreal classrooms, campuses, and smart learning environments. Some leverage AI to personalizeinstruction at scale. Others rebuild classroom structures, enhance immersive experiences, automateintelligent campus management, or construct entirely new evaluation frameworks and smarteducational ecosystem. What unites them is a shared commitment to measurable impact, ethicalresponsibility, and sustainable replicability. This collection is a global public good. It is our hope that these cases, which can be accessed throughthe QR code at the back of this book or the official WDEA website (https://wdea.bnu.edu.cn/)—servenot as a final destination, but as a starting point, a blueprint and an invitation. We invite policymakers,school leaders, teachers, and EdTech innovators around the world to study these models, adapt themto local contexts, and build upon them. The future of education will not be written by a single nation orinstitution. It will be written together. Finally, we would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all case contributors and selection experts.The intelligent era promotes exchanges and mutual learning between civilizations.
