March16, 2023 To:OPRA Multicast DataSubscribers Subject:OPRA Capacity Testing-April 1, 2023,Reminder TheOPRA Participants have updated their traffic projections based onmessages per100-millisecond (MPHM)intervals. The use of a 10-millisecond interval reflects system utilization during bursts of traffic. The bandwidthrequired to receiveOPRAdata is reflected in Gigabits. Please note that the traffic projections are forone stream only. For fault tolerance purposes, two redundantstreams of data are available from SIAC. For those Multicast Data Subscribers who elect to receive both streams ofdata, the bandwidth requirements would be double. SIAC will provide Saturday capacity testing opportunities three timesa year to allow Multicast Data Subscribers tovalidate processing OPRA projected maximum output traffic rates. All OPRA Multicast Data Subscribers are invited to participate in capacity testing occurring on the same dates as theSIP Failover tests as follows: 2023 OPRA Capacity Testing Schedule •Saturday, April 1, 2023-12:00pm to 1:00pm ET•Saturday, July 22, 2023-12:00pm to 1:00pm ET•Saturday, December 2, 2023-12:00pm to 1:00pm ET Aspreviously announced, for optimal symbol balancing and linecapacity utilization, OPRA will be expanding datadissemination from a 48-line to a 96-line multicast data distribution network,onJuly 31, 2023.Capacity testing forthe 96-line data distribution network will take place afterselectindustry tests(dates to be determined.) The maximum output traffic rates for OPRA data services will be as follows: Capacity Projections Retransmissions The required bandwidthshould be increased by 10% to account for retransmissions. Latency Themedianlatency for OPRAisunder20microseconds. Message latency is measured beginning withthe time-stamptaken as an inbound Participant message arrives at the network entrance to theOPRA environment, throughprocessing by the system into a consolidated message forMulticastDataSubscribers, to the time-stamp taken as theoutbound message arrives at the network exit from the environment. These time-stamps are taken and correlatedby a process external to the data processing applications. If the external process cannot correlate an inboundmessage to its corresponding outbound message or measures negative latency for a message, the message isexcluded from broader latency calculations such asmedianmessage latency. Test RegistrationEach OPRA Data Subscriber participating in the test should register atCTA-OPRA-Support@siac.com. Data Subscribers who receive OPRA from connectivity service providers other than ICE Global Network (IGN) or theNMS Network must contact their connectivity service providers tocoordinate testing. *Please note that if no Multicast Data Subscribers register for capacity testing, capacity testingwill nottake place. Questions Questions regarding the bandwidth requirements should be addressed to:CTA-OPRA-Support@siac.com. MulticastData Subscribers can also contact the SIAC NMS Product Management Desk at 212-656-8177, Option 2. If supportteam members are engaged with other customers, please leavea detailed voice message of the purpose of your call, which will produce an email of your message to the support team.
