A total of 31 senior corporate affairs professionals, and 117journalists responded to these anonymous surveys. While thecorporate affairs respondent group was smaller in number, thiswas by design. Medianet deliberately targeted senior corporateaffairs professionals and leaders in the function in order to gainhigh-quality responses and strategic-level insights. Each surveywas designed to provide comparative perspectives on the function, role and responsibility of a corporate affairs professional. Please note:This survey isintended to provide a snapshotof the experiences of corporateaffairs professionals, and is not anexhaustive study of the corporateaffairs sector. The surveys explored key considerations, challenges and strategywhen it comes to managing reputation and risk. Key findings include: •Strategic voice:58% of respondents indicated that corporateaffairs was a C-suite function. However, 81% said they hada voice in the strategic direction of their organisations. Thisdemonstrates the influence and importance of corporate affairseven if it doesn’t always report directly to the CEO. •The AI paradox:Despite clear AI optimism, with 77% ofrespondents saying they use Generative AI tools, manyalso expressed concerns around AI – particularly impact oninformation accuracy and critical thinking. •Challenges:Cybersecurity was flagged by both corporateaffairs professionals and journalists as a key external challengefor organisations. Respondents also noted that internal affairs/employee engagement and government relations are bothleading priorities and challenges when it comes to strategicplanning and resources. Survey participants were invited to respond. Some providedresponses in a voluntary capacity, while others entered a drawfor the chance to win a monetary gift card. Responses wereanalysed confidentially and all identifying information aboutrespondents was removed to maintain anonymity. Acknowledgement of Country: We acknowledge the Wurundjeriand Boonwu
