It serves as a fundamental pillar of trust and reliability in our As technology hurtles forward with the advent of the Internet of Things (IoT), 5G, andArtificial Intelligence (AI), the landscape of conformity assessment is undergoing aprofound transformation, demanding more dynamic and sophisticated approaches toguarantee the integrity of our global communications infrastructure. We also found that Regulators must strike a balance between the rigorous, non-negotiable demands ofconformity assessment and the agility required for seamless global tradewhencreatinga suitable approval framework for communications equipment.Overly Considering this conundrum, Malaysia has embarked on a project entitledAgileCommunications Equipment Approval Framework under theAsia-PacificEconomicCooperation(APEC)Telecommunications and Information Working Group (TELWG). This final report documents the project's outcome andpresents a comprehensivecomparative analysis of the conformity assessment frameworks for communicationsequipment acrossfourteen(14)APEC economies.
