Operational efficiency andproduction optimization are among thekey company’s priorities. Currently, VitalEnergy is investing in digital technologiesto ensure asset integrity, reduce operatingcosts, and increase production rates. Today, reliance on manual methodsfor ESP monitoring and optimization istime-consuming, expensive, and prone tohuman error. But intelligent technologiessuch as Artificial Intelligence (AI), MachineLearning (ML), and Big Data can takethe complexity out of operating ESPs byhelping to identify opportunities, recognizeproblems, and optimize production rates. ESP-operated wells play a strategic rolein Vital Energy's digital transformationstrategy. New and in-service wells thatrun on ESP need constant monitoring andtuning of operating parameters to achievehigh efficiency and production targets. VitalEnergy wanted to create an AI-based solutionfor ESP optimization that will automaticallyrecommend ESP operating parameters, givethe ability to visualize all the necessary data,and have a way to leave feedback, inputlimitations, and operating constraints. Our approach SoftServe helped Vital Energy build a comprehensive solution on Amazon Web Services(AWS) using Deep Neural Network (DNN) algorithms and optimization techniques,including extensive visualization and interpretation for end users. It models theentire system by simulating telemetry and production with different scenarios. Also, itallows Vital Energy to find the best possible controls to meet constraints such as motortemperature, voltage, intake pressure, and gas or water volume. The algorithm can beadapted to various ESP systems and provides operators with optimal daily control.
