Foreword InFebruary2014,theOECDadoptedtheStandardforAutomaticExchangeofFinancialAccountInformationinTaxMatters,alsoreferredtoastheCommonReportingStandard(CRS).TheStandardcallsonjurisdictionstoobtaininformationfromtheirfinancialinstitutionsandautomaticallyexchangethatinformationwithotherjurisdictionsonanannualbasis.Sinceitsadoption,theCRShasbeenwidelyimplementedworldwide,enablingjurisdictionsandfinancialinstitutionstoenhancetaxcomplianceandfosterinternationaltaxco-operation. FurthertoacomprehensivereviewoftheCRS,theOECDadoptedasetofamendmentsinAugust2022.Asaresult,thescopeoftheCRShasbeenexpandedtoincludespecificelectronicmoneyproductsandcentralbankdigitalcurrencies.Furtherrevisionshavebeenmadetoensurethatindirectinvestmentsincrypto-assets,throughderivativesandinvestmentvehicles,arenowsubjecttotheCRS.Inaddition,amendmentshavebeenmadetostrengthentheduediligenceandreportingrequirementsandtoprovideacarveoutforgenuinenon-profitorganisations.ThispublicationcontainsanunofficialconsolidatedtextoftheCRS,incorporatingtheamendmentsmade,resultingfromthecomprehensivereviewoftheStandard.
