The Group’s businesscovers key stages of the lithium industry chain, includingthe development of hard rock lithium mineral resources, theconcentrating and sales of lithium concentrates, and theproduction and sales of lithium chemical products, aimingto provide sustainable lithium solutions for the clean energytransition worldwide. With over 30 years of experience in thelithium industry, the Group has strategically established itspresence in the lithium industry chain in China, Australia andChile to provide high-quality products and service to variouscountries and regions. The Group has also establishedpartnerships with international customers by virtue of itsvertically integrated industry chain advantages to jointlysupport the long-term sustainable development of lithium-ionbattery technologies in the electric vehicle and energy storageindustries. SQM100% Upstream lithium resources:The Group strategicallydeployed on the high-quality hard rock lithium mine and saltlake brine resources. It leverages the spodumene mine atGreenbushes, owned by Talison, a wholly-owned subsidiaryof Windfield, controlled by the Company in Australia, and theYajiang Cuola Mine in Sichuan, China, owned by ShengheLithium, a subsidiary controlled by the Company, as keyresource bases. Through investing part of the equity interestsin SQM and Shigatse Zabuye, the Group further expandedits layout of high-quality salt lake lithium resources bothdomestically and internationally. With its high-quality andmulti-dimensional lithium resources layout, the Group hasnow realized 100% self-sufficiency in lithium resources. COMPANY PROFILE 162SQM Among others, the Greenbushes spodumene mine is thelargest spodumene project under production with thehighest grade in the world at present, which currently has anestablished capacity of lithium concentrates of 1.62 milliontons/year; the Yajiang Cuola Spodumene Mine in Sichuanis part of the largest hard rock Jiajika lithium mine in Asia;the Atacama salt lake operated by SQM is a lithium salt lakeproject with the largest reserves in the world; and the Zabuyesalt lake in Shigatse, Xizang is the third largest lithium saltlake in the world and the largest lithium salt lake in Asia. Thelithium concentration in the brine of Zabuye salt lake in Xizangis second only to the Atacama salt lake, ranking the second inthe world in terms of lithium grade. Midstream lithium compounds:The lithium compounds andtheir derivatives produced by the Company include battery-grade and industrial-grade lithium hydroxide, battery-gradeand industrial-grade lithium carbonate, lithium chloride andlithium metal, which are widely used in a number of endmarkets, mainly including new energy vehicles, electricvessels, energy storage systems, aircraft, ceramics, glass,etc. The Company has explored in the processing sector oflithium chemical products for years, operating processingplants in both China and Australia. The Company’s five plantsin China are located in Shehong (Sichuan), Anju (Sichuan),Zhangjiagang (Jiangsu), Tongliang (Chongqing) and Yanting(Sichuan). Meanwhile, Kwinana lithium hydroxide productionbase in Western Australia also provides high-quality productsto downstream customers alongside domestic plants. Combined with the announced planned capacity, thetotal is expected to reach 122,600 tons per year. In addition,the Company has a plant in Mianyang, Sichuan, whichfocuses on the comprehensive recycling of bulk industrialsolid waste (lithium slag). This plant houses the world’s firstproduction line of silicon-aluminium powder developed underindependent intellectual property rights and with an annualoutput of 30,000 tons, serving as an innovative platformand incubation base for the comprehensive utilization ofresources.
