"Scaling a Purpose-Driven Business at CoachHub"
CoachHub's Journey and Vision
CoachHub, founded in 2018 by brothers Matti and Yannis Niebelschütz, embarked on a mission to democratize business coaching globally. Inspired by their own experiences with coaching, they sought to make coaching accessible to all career levels worldwide. Initially, the company aimed to achieve three key milestones: developing a minimum viable product, securing 30 coaches, and acquiring ten paying clients. These targets were set to prepare for a seed round of funding.
Expansion and International Reach
Over the next three years, CoachHub expanded rapidly, launching operations across all European markets and acquiring MoovOne, the French category leader in 2021. By focusing on international expansion, the company grew its global presence to include operations in 90 countries, with headquarters in Berlin, New York, and Singapore. With a global pool of over 3,500 certified business coaches, CoachHub offers coaching sessions in more than 60 languages.
Leadership and Mindset Evolution
As the company scaled, Matti Niebelschütz recognized the importance of balancing agility with discipline. Communication became a critical component in maintaining a consistent culture as the team size increased and the organization diversified. Additionally, the need for structured processes and better training emerged, particularly for managing changes and maintaining efficiency.
Company Values and Implementation
CoachHub's values—culture first, trust, drive, ownership, and growth—were co-created during an employee off-site event. These values serve as guiding principles, influencing hiring, feedback, and promotion processes. Emphasizing transparency, as a core value, aligns with empowering employees with autonomy and ownership, fostering a culture of responsibility and accountability.
Role of Technology in Scaling
At its core, CoachHub operates as a tech-driven business, leveraging advanced technologies such as machine learning and artificial intelligence. Matching algorithms, designed to consider multiple criteria, facilitate seamless pairing of coaches and clients, enabling rapid and effective matchmaking. AI further personalizes learning content and recommendations, enhancing user experience and engagement.
Business Case Clarity
To successfully scale, CoachHub clearly defined its business case, focusing on leveraging technology to enhance coaching services, ensuring accessibility, and fostering a global community of professional coaches. This approach not only supports the company's mission but also drives its continued growth and innovation in the digital coaching market.
