The EV Infrastructure Fund is a Scottish government initiative aimed at attracting private sector investment to support the development of electric vehicle charging infrastructure across Scotland. The fund is expected to be the last national public EV infrastructure funding program provided by Scottish Ministers, with any future funding being very focused. The fund supports local authorities to develop and deliver partnerships with private sector companies in areas where commercial investment on its own would not be viable. The fund is neutral on who owns and operates charge points, with a variety of potential owner/operator models being available. The fund is available for strategic planning and project development, additional in-house costs and external support, and project delivery. The fund is allocated over four years, with a minimum of £300K in de minimis funding and a maximum of £30M in program funding. The fund aims to leverage at least £30M from the private sector.
