The Group is a renowned containermanufacturer in the world and having comprehensive depotoperation networks in the People’s Republic of China (the“PRC”). Our manufacturing business is currently supported byfive factories in the PRC. We manufacture a wide rangeof products including dry freight containers, collapsibleflatrack containers, open top containers, bitutainers, tankcontainers, offshore containers, customised containers andother specialised containers and container parts. We havestarted the container leasing business in recent years byallowing an additional option to the customers on top ofdirect purchase. Our logistics business includes container depots andlogistics company, and is currently running eight containerdepots at the major ports in the PRC – Dalian, Tianjin,Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Fuzhou and Xiamen. During the latest financial year, the operating environmenthas been difficult owing to high inflation, interest ratehikes by the world’s central banks, and various geopoliticaltensions. With global trade volume underperforming, thedemand for dry freight containers was affected, with averageselling price (“ASP”) maintaining a downward trajectory. For the Group, our specialised container business continuedto grow healthily, particularly for the energy storage system(“ESS”) segment, thus testifying to the effectiveness of ourdiversified business model in helping mitigate the impactof dry freight container market volatility. In addition, wehave been expanding the container leasing business tobetter serve our customers – allowing them to have theadditional option of leasing on top of direct purchasing, andto capitalise on synergies with the Group’s manufacturingoperation.
