The Costa Rican court of arbitration has ruled in favor of Javier Johany Grijalba Inchima, a Colombian football player, in a labor dispute with Bolivar Sport Club, a Venezuelan club. The ruling was made on November 30, 2023, and was based on a contract signed between the two parties on May 24, 2023. The contract was valid until December 15, 2023, and it included provisions for monthly salary and a bonus for goals scored. The club was found to be in breach of its obligation to comply with Venezuelan migration laws, as stated in clause 6.2 of the contract. The player notified the club of his need for a work visa on September 21, 2023, and the club was given three days to process the visa. However, the club did not act within the given timeframe, and the player terminated the contract on September 29, 2023. The court ruled that the player was entitled to receive the full amount of the contract, including the bonus for goals scored.
