Terminal Storage Business The Group owns and operates a liquid product terminal, namelyDongzhou Petrochemical Terminal (“DZIT”) carried out by DongguanDongzhou International Petrochemical Storage Limited (“DZInternational”), an indirect subsidiary of the Company. DZIT is situatedin Lisha Island, Humen Harbour district, Shatian county, Dongguancity, Guangdong province, the PRC, with a site area of approximately516,000 square metres. It was built with berths ranging from 500 to100,000 dwt and is installed with 94 oil and petrochemical tanks ofa total storage capacity of approximately 260,000 cubic metres, outof which 180,000 cubic metres are for gasoline, diesel and similarpetroleum products commonly available in trading and consumptionmarkets. In 2022, the Group actively discussedwith different stakeholders on the second phase development ofDZIT, including the modification of one of its existing jetties andconstruction of a liquefied natural gas (“LNG”) storage tanks and LNGrelated facilities in the vacant land of approximately 150,000 squaremeters. The Group is seeking approval from the local government forits proposed second phase development, and as at the reporting date,the application approval is still in progress. Management Discussion and Analysis (Expressed in Hong Kong dollars, unless otherwise indicated) Trading Business The Group operates in trading of oil and petrochemical productscarried out in the People’s Republic of China (the “PRC”) (includingHong Kong) and has established long term cooperative relationshipswith major energy companies such as CNOOC, Sinopec andSinochem. The Group’s strategy for its trading business is to expand its customersbase to the end customers of filling stations by prioritizing supply thepetrol and diesel to the filling stations through signing of key fuel
