This year’stheme captures the spirit of ACEF—a collective journey through collaboration, innovation, andpragmatic solutions. It champions the development of cleaner and more sustainable energy systemsthat fuel economic growth, strengthen energy security, ensure affordable and reliable access, uphold At the Asian Development Bank (ADB), we are proud to be your partners in advancing low-carbontechnologies and promoting just energy transition in Asia and the Pacific. Let me briefly highlight threeongoing initiatives that reflect our commitment. First, in Bhutan, where winter months bring energyshortages due to declining hydropower output, ADB has extended a $30 million loan to install solarphotovoltaic systems on 1,500 public buildings. This is expected to generate up to 35 megawatts ofclean solar energy and enhance energy resilience. Second, in Tajikistan, ADB is supporting renewableenergy expansion through a $21 million grant to upgrade hydropower facilities in Khatlon Province. We see ACEF as a platform to share practical knowledge, raise awareness, and strengthen partnershipsthat drive the clean energy transition in Asia and the Pacific. This week, we have 50 sessions to exploreenergy challenges and opportunities under four thematic tracks. The first track is TechnologicalInnovation. This explores advancements in renewable energy technologies, storage, and smart grids toexpand access and unlock new potential. Under the second track—Regional Power Trade and MarketIntegration—we will explore cross-border energy cooperation, policy harmonization, and strategies to In addition, we will have Operation Sessions. These will spotlight ADB’s clean energy work with ourdeveloping member countries. The Spotlight Sessions will focus on special emerging topics relevant tothe clean energy transition, and Deep Dive Workshops will be marked by discussions of concepts, ideas, As I come to the end of my remarks, I want to make one key point. This ACEF is not just aboutenergy. It is also about shaping a sustainable and inclusive future. Let’s continue fostering innovation, strengthening cooperation, and mobilizing finance that empowers our region.
