Client Background Business Challenge Veriforce is a recognized leader indelivering comprehensive solutionsthat help businesses across the globedrive safety and compliance into theirsupply chains and down to the employeelevel. The company focuses on optimizingcontractor safety and compliance,health and safety training, and operatorqualification. One-third of the leadingNorth American energy companies trustVeriforce to protect their worksites andworkers. Veriforce wanted to improveon their complex paper-basedcompliance evaluation forms. Indoing so, they expected to streamline theevaluation process to reduce the amountof paperwork, improve the evaluatorexperience, and ensure betteroperational efficiency. They needed to develop a robust mobilesolution for conducting and submittingpaperless Record of Evaluations (ROEs),a form used by authorized personnel toevaluate and determine if a candidate isqualified to perform a specific task. Thisform is critical to supply chain safety. The evaluator must follow each stepoutlined in the ROE and carefully documentthe candidate's performance. Thecandidate must receive a 100% evaluationscore to meet regulatory requirements andensure the safety of that individual andeveryone around them. Project Description Veriforce partnered with SoftServe to build a reliable mobile application toconduct on-site workers’ evaluations. First, SoftServe experts analyzed the client’srequirements and prepared a roadmap for successful project delivery, taking intoconsideration priorities and business objectives. The project was split into two components: FRONT-END BACK-END The SoftServe team utilized a set ofmicroservices and designed a robustapproach to run the back-endmicroservice on Amazon ElasticKubernetes Service (AmazonEKS) to ensure data security, highscalability, minimal operationaloverhead, and easy access. SoftServe experts employedthe React Native framework tobuild a cross-platform mobileapplication for iOS and Android. Application delivery was incremental, witheach release expanding its capabilities.This way, the customer could benefitfrom the application earlier, beforethe completion of all functionalities.Throughout the development process,the team had to ensure uninterruptedoperations of the legacy web-based systemused in parallel with the new app. Ourexperts were confirming requirements foreffective solution deployment throughoutthe project’s lifecycle. We tested the serviceoperations in the development, beta, andproduction environments. User acceptancetesting confirmed that functionalities andperformance meet acceptance criteria. We delivered a robust, well-designed mobilesolution that helps contractors maintaincompliance and speed up operations whileremaining safe in the field. The number ofROE submissions done via the mobile appis increasing, and Veriforce realizes theseadditional benefits: ACCURACY EFFICIENCY IMPROVEDTIME-TO-MARKET REDUCEDPAPERWORK The number ofROEs rejectedbecause of manualerrors was reducedby 60% whenusing the mobileapplication. Veriforce reports upto a 50% reductionin the time neededfor evaluationsusing the mobileapplication insteadof submitting thepaper form. 30% of all ROEsubmissions werecompleted via themobile applicationone month after thelatest release. The MVP wasreleased within fourmonths of the startof the project. Andwithin 14 monthsafter the solution’slaunch, sevenapplication releaseswent live.
