Every year around this time, members of theBoao Family and other stakeholders are gathered here inBoao, not just to renew friendship & demonstrate solidar-ity, but to reaffirm the fundamental principles guiding ourcommon Asia, and recommit to the mission & purposesof Asian economic integration and common development.It’s an occasion for Asia to re-unite under a shared visionfor a shared future in an era of profound & transformativechanges. The GlobalSouth has taken the center stage as a strong voice for mul-tilateral coordination & cooperation, not unilateral actions,in face of global challenges such as conflicts, poverty andclimate change. Theconsensus is universal, simple, clear and unequivocal.Our challenges are deeply interconnected and far exceedthe capacity of any single state alone. They can only beaddressed collectively, through strong and sustained inter-national cooperation guided by trust and solidarity for thebenefit of all. The Year 2025 will see such changes manifest them-selves in both challenges and opportunities. Eroded trust,intensifying rivalry and a rapidly deteriorating global secu-rity landscape threaten to turn the world into a more dan-gerous and divided place. We are committed to promot-ing understanding, exchanges & dialogues with the goalof re-building trust among countries, leaders & peoples,and rekindling international cooperation. As an importantfollow-up of the UN Summit, the BFA Annual Confer-ence 2025 will bring together more than 2000 government,business, intellectual & opinion leaders from Asia andthe world to reaffirm and deliver on the commitments &pledges made last September.
