Hong Kong’s economy continued torecord moderate growth in the second quarter of 2024. Accordingto the Government, the real GDP grew by 3.3% in the secondquarter of 2024 compared to the same period a year before. On aseasonally adjusted quarter-to-quarter basis, the real GDP increasedby 0.4%. The Government foresees continue growth in the economybut noting that performance of different economic segments mayvary amid uncertainties. In 2023 and early 2024, the construction industry experiencedsignificant shortage of construction-related professions. With theintroduction of the Enhanced Supplementary Labour Scheme by theGovernment, employers may apply to import workers at technicianlevel or below to fill vacancies which they have genuine difficultiesin recruiting suitable staff locally. Up to 30 April 2024, four roundsof application were accepted and a total of 9,731 quotas havebeen approved under the scheme. With the diminished effect ofthe labour crunch, the Group expects that there are ample room ofgrowth for the construction industry in the upcoming years. 9,731 MANAGEMENT DISCUSSION AND ANALYSIS管理層討論及分析 BUSINESS REVIEW AND OUTLOOK The Group is a foundation works contractor in Hong Kong.The Group has commenced i
