The shares of theCompany were listed on the Stock Exchange of HongKong Limited (the “Stock Exchange”) on 23 October2000. The condensed consolidated financial statementsof the Company for the six months ended 30 June 2024comprise the Company and its subsidiaries (collectivelyreferred to as the “Group”). The principal activities of theGroup are the operation of department stores, shoppingmalls, and supermarkets in the People’s Republic of China(the “PRC”). 2 2BASIS OF PREPARATION 34 Thisinterim financial report has been prepared inaccordancewith the applicable disclosure provisionsof the Rules Governing the Listing of Securities on theStock Exchange, including compliance with Hong KongAccountingStandard(“HKAS”)34,Interim FinancialReporting, issued by the Hong Kong Institute of CertifiedPublic Accountants (the “HKICPA”).
