A new Morning Consult survey shows that the majority of both leisure and business travelers in the US are reducing and postponing trips due to the rising cases of the Omicron variant. 62% of business travelers and 63% of leisure travelers are likely to take fewer trips, while 69% of business travelers are likely to conduct more virtual meetings than travel or meet in-person. Additionally, 49% of leisure travelers are likely to postpone travel due to Omicron. The survey also found that Americans support COVID relief for hotels by a margin of more than 3 to 1 and believe hotels should receive federal aid for any economic programs created to support small businesses affected by the pandemic.
